Hi °C | Lo °C A mum of five who used £4,500 of her £29,000 annual benefit handouts to supplement a breast enhancement operation has been jailed for 16 weeks for shoplifting £3,000 worth of goods.
Kelly Fannin from Falmouth who boosted her assets from a modest 34A to 34D in 2010 and has five children to five different fathers dodged custodial sentences for previous shoplifting offences.
She was quoted two years ago saying that it wasn’t until she received the extra benefits for her fifth child that she could afford the boob op.
Kelly who is 34-years-old pleaded guilty to her most recent charge of theft that saw her steal shaver equipment, an electric toothbrush and cosmetics from Boots alongside four other offences including the theft of £1,200 worth of perfume.
In 2007 Kelly admitted to dozens of other counts of shoplifting four of which amounted to the theft of some £820 worth of items.
The Daily Mail reported that Kelly who received £870 in housing benefits, £975 in child tax credit, £260 in income support and £303 in child benefits monthly in 2010, had four flat screen televisions in every room at her four-bed home alongside a wardrobe that was used solely to store her jeans collection.
