Christine Bleakley's new workmate Tasmin Khan has spoken of her devastation at making the headlines herself after an ex-boyfriend sold nude photos of her to a tabloid newspaper.
The 30-year-old Oxford graduate is set to join Northern Ireland girl Bleakley and Adrian Chiles next month as part of the new look GMTV show Daybreak, delivering bulletins and breaking stories.
On Thursday The Sun carried pictures of her posing naked in private photographs.
Ms Khan told the Daily Mail how she was left heartbroken by the scandal, saying a former boyfriend sold the images.
She said: “I am devastated that I have been let down and embarrassed by a man I once thought I could trust.
“These are private pictures from a long time ago. Had it not been for the disreputable actions of someone cashing in on my career they would have stayed that way.”
Tasmin, real name Farhana, grew up in west London with her Bengali family, and has presented on BBC News 24 plus BBC Three.
She says she now wants to put the embarrassing episode behind her.
She added: “I am grateful at this distressing time for the love shown to me by my friends and family and, of course, by both the BBC and ITV.”
Last year she hit the headlines again after managing to read just 28 words of a BBC Three bulletin gasping for breath after running to the studio and arriving late for her live broadcast.
She is set to start her new job with ITV on Daybreak next month.
The station said it didn't comment on personal matters.
