Two people have been arrested by detectives investigating the fatal shooting of a man.
The victim was found with gunshot wounds at a property in St Mary's Street, Southampton, Hampshire, at 11am on Saturday.
He was taken to Southampton General Hospital in a life-threatening condition but later died, Hampshire Constabulary said.
A 36-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were arrested at the scene and are being questioned in connection with the shooting.
A police spokesman said it is believed the people involved were all known to each other and it is being treated as an isolated incident.
Inquiries are continuing to find out whether anyone else is connected to the shooting, which led to road closures and diversions around St Mary's Street.
The spokesman said: "The victim died following a gunshot wound. No further details about the deceased are available at this time as formal identification has not taken place yet and next of kin still need to be informed."
Police have appealed for anyone with information to call the force's major investigation team on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
