Driver dies after tractor rolls

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed a man died after his tractor rolled forwards near Newark

A tractor driver has died after suffering serious head injuries when his vehicle rolled forwards, police said.

David Milner, 64, was pronounced dead in hospital after being found injured in Cotham, near Newark, Nottinghamshire, on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said Mr Milner, who lived locally, was found by a passer-by at the side of Newark Road, at its junction with Grange Lane.

The spokesman added: "Police believe that Mr Milner got out of the tractor and, somehow, the vehicle rolled forward on to him, causing serious head injuries.

"He was found by a passing motorist at around 6pm and was taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre, where he later died."

Anyone with information is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
