Eco-flame falls at the final hurdle

London 212 has missed its aim to have a low-carbon Olympic flame.

EDF Energy, an Olympic sponsor and 212 sustainability partner, said it will not be able to keep its 27 pledge for a new low-carbon fuel for the torch because of time-trialling issues.

The technology needed for the development meant they tripped at the final hurdle, organisers claimed.
