Girl dies after lorry accident

Officers were called to Streatham Place in south west London after the collision

An 11-year-old girl has died after a collision with a lorry, police have said.

Officers were called to Streatham Place in south west London on Tuesday at 3.20pm, and the girl, from Streatham, was taken to hospital suffering from severe head injuries.

She died in hospital on Tuesday night.

The driver of the lorry, who stopped at the scene, was not arrested, the Metropolitan Police said.

Officers from Hampton traffic garage are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
