Hi °C | Lo °C The mother of a five-year-old girl was horrified when they visited fast food chain KFC to find their meal came with a free side order of caterpillar.
Mali Thomas found the dead insect sticking out of a corn on a cob. Her mother Angharad said she was "disgusted" by her daughter's discovery.
"It made me feel sick. I'm glad I noticed it or Mali could have eaten it and got ill," the mother of three from Denbigh, North Wales, told The Mirror.
KFC have apologised for the incident: "We're very sorry for Ms Thomas and her daughter's experience. This can happen on very rare occasions when dealing with natural produce," said a company spokesperson.
"Restaurant staff have offered a full refund, a replacement meal and our customer care team will also be in touch," they added.
