A man died after discovering his house had been burgled, police have said.
The 67-year-old was taken ill after finding his home in Croydon, south London, had been burgled on Wednesday night.
Detectives are not treating his death as suspicious, but have appealed for any information.
A spokesman said officers were called to reports of a burglary in Beckford Road, Croydon, at 7.10pm but before they arrived the 67-year-old occupant of the house was taken ill.
He was taken to a south London hospital by ambulance, but pronounced dead some time later.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place and the man's next of kin have been informed.
The burglary is believed to have happened between 11.30am and 7pm, but no suspects were in the house when the owner arrived, police said.
