Man remanded over canal body murder

Manzar Juma has been remanded in custody accused of the murder of mother-of-three Ruby Love

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a mother of three whose body was found in a canal on Christmas Day.

Manzar Juma, 27, of Hexham Gardens, Ealing, west London, was remanded in custody at Brent Magistrates' Court and will appear next at the Central Criminal Court on January 3, a court official said.

Ruby Love, 23, from Harrow, north-west London, was discovered in the Grand Union Canal at Bankside, Southall, on Sunday morning by a member of the public.

Ms Love, born Rubina Malik, was mother to three young children, Scotland Yard has said.

Her mother Precious, 45, has paid tribute to her daughter, describing her as her "angel".

She said: "She was just the most lovely girl. The best daughter I could ever ask for. She was just perfect. I called her my angel.

"It's such a loss - I don't know how we are going to cope."
