The Queen's Diamond Jubilee will be one of many events honoured by a series of special stamps which will be released throughout the year, Royal Mail announced today.
The House of Windsor stamps will be released from February 2 and include five monarchs, with the Queen featuring on the final stamp while six portraits of the Queen, taken from throughout her reign, will feature on a sheet due to be released on February 6. A further eight stamps will be sold from May 3.
Royal Mail is also set to honour other high profile British citizens from the past with a set of Roald Dahl stamps, released from January 10 alongside a series of stamps to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens in June this year.
It will also release a further 10 first class stamps celebrating Second World War code-breaker Alan Turing and composer Frederick Delius while the London 2012 Games stamps will go on sale on January 5.
