New Radio 1 breakfast host Nick Grimshaw has already started to dream about his high-profile show.

The 28-year-old takes over on Monday from Chris Moyles, who bowed out last week after more than eight years.

He told the Radio Times magazine: "It was a little daunting to begin with, but now I'm just excited. I'm actually dreaming about it - and nice dreams, too.

"The other night I dreamt that Rihanna was doing the weather. Everyone was asking why she was doing the weather and I was like 'Why wouldn't she be?"'

Grimshaw, who has been holidaying in Ibiza with his friend Kate Moss, said he was coping well while preparing for the early morning starts.

"I do find it easy to get up in the morning and my brain functions better", he said. "So I think I should be OK if I'm getting up at half five after going to bed at 10."

In an interview with Top Of The Pops magazine, Grimshaw - whose TV promotion for his new slot features stars Harry Styles, Cheryl Cole, Rita Ora and Professor Green - joked he might end up presenting the show in his pyjamas.

He told the magazine: "I've got no shame with things like that. I go to the shops wearing pyjama bottoms, glasses and a vest, looking a bit crazy. I kind of like dressing like that.

"Next, I'll have a Pomeranian (dog) in a pram!"

Moyles signed off on Friday, telling listeners that the final show felt like "some weird victory" after "all the flak we've taken".
