Pedestrian and biker die in crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after two people died in a collision in Weymouth

A female pedestrian and a male motorcyclist have been killed following a crash near a roundabout.

Dorset Police said the 63-year-old woman was walking her dog, which also died, when the incident happened in Weymouth just after 5pm yesterday.

The woman and the motorcyclist, who was 23, were both from the Weymouth area.

Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by police family liaison officers.

Police are appealing for witnesses. A spokesman said: "Immediately prior to the collision a large, bronze-coloured Honda motorcycle was seen to travel from Westwey Road junction towards Chafeys roundabout.

"During this journey the motorcycle collided with a female pedestrian and her dog, causing fatal injuries to all three."

Anyone with information is asked to call the force on 101 and ask for PC Andy Loveless, quoting incident i26:395.
