Pensioner killed in hit and run

Latest news

A pensioner has been killed in a hit and run after walking with her granddaughter across a busy west London road.

Police are now on the hunt for those responsible for the crash, which occurred on Boston Manor Road, Brentford about 4pm yesterday.

Emergency crews treated a 60-year-old woman at the scene, but she was pronounced dead at about 5pm.

Her seven-year-old granddaughter escaped unharmed.

Police say a "dirty" and damaged red hatchback did not stop at the scene and was last seen driving north on Boston Manor Road towards the A4.

The car's two occupants were described as white men. No arrests have yet been made.

The woman's next of kin have been advised and a post-mortem examination will be carried out at Fulham Mortuary in due course.

Anyone with information should call the Road Death Investigation Unit at Hampton on 02089419011, Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or the police non-emergency line on 101.
