Police appeal after woman's murder

Police investigating the murder of a mother-of-three are appealing for a man who may have vital information to come forward

Police investigating the murder of a mother-of-three are appealing for a man who may have vital information to come forward.

The body of Kelly Davies, 31, was found at a property in Farnworth, Greater Manchester, on Monday June 4.

Detectives believe she was the victim of a targeted attack at the property in Queen Street. A post-mortem examination provisionally found she died from stab injuries, with toxicology results awaited.

A 35-year-old man was arrested in the Netherlands on June 8 and will be brought back to the UK.

Police are now appealing for a man who was in the Market Street area of Farnworth at around 11.30pm on June 2 to get in touch with them. He is not being treated as a suspect.

The man can be seen on CCTV leaving a takeaway food shop called Tasters, next to the Wellington pub.

He is described as white, of medium build, possibly white or grey hair, and wearing a light-coloured coat.

He got into a dark coloured saloon-type car parked directly outside the takeaway and drove off in the direction of Queen Street, heading away from Farnworth.

Detective Inspector Chris Bridge said: "I would like to stress that we do not believe this man is involved with Kelly's death in any way.

"If this man is you, or if you know who he is, then please contact the major incident team at Bury police station on 0161 856 4032."
