A prisoner on remand has said he will sue RBS for “loss of liberty” over its IT glitch which cost him his freedom.
Michael Brock (35) was due to be released from remand after being granted bail in lieu of £25,000 on Friday.
Brock, held in custody since December on charges of attempted rape and indecent assault, should have been released on Saturday but Canterbury crown court could not tell if the surety had been paid.
He was released on Monday after a payment receipt was received but his lawyer, Stephen Supple said his client’s “liberty should not have been taken away because of a bank cock-up” and confirmed “he will seek damages”, according to the Daily Mirror.
