Fifty people have been evacuated from their homes following a gas explosion, police said.
The blast in Lambeth, south London, did not cause a fire and no injuries were reported.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called by London Fire Brigade at approximately 6.40pm today to reports of a gas explosion on Oakden Street. Officers from London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade are in attendance."
A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said: "About 50 people were evacuated from four residential properties and the local authorities are now taking care of it. There are no reports of any casualties."
He said there was no fire to be put out.
