Stabbed model has police contact

Tributes have been paid to model Linah Keza (AMC Agency/PA)

Detectives are continuing to question a man over the death of a 29-year-old model stabbed to death in an apparent domestic incident, as it emerged she had been in contact with police before she died.

Linah Keza was killed in a knife attack at her home in King Edward Road, Leyton, east London, on Wednesday.

The case has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, which will look at what contact police had with her.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested and detectives have been granted more time to question him.

Tributes have poured in for the model, who has a three-year-old daughter, after more than 1,700 people joined a Facebook page dedicated to her.

Ms Keza's brother Jack Hodari told the Evening Standard: "It's so tragic that good people die this young. I am not saying this because she was my sister, but the whole world can tell you this. Look at all the friends she had, see what they are saying."

Belinah Elsie wrote on Facebook: "We loved you and we will always remember you. Thanks for the moments we shared and for the memorable days."

Ms Keza, who was registered with the AMC Agency, was reportedly a contestant in Miss Africa 2010.

An AMC Agency spokesman said: "Today is a very sad day for our agency as we have had the sad news that one of our models, Linah Keza, has passed away in very tragic circumstances. She was very compassionate, amazing and a professional girl. Everybody that met and worked with her via the agency will miss her greatly."

A Scotland Yard spokesman said a post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be stab wounds to the chest. The man arrested over the incident is being held at a police station in north London.
