Victoria Beckham has told of her delight at the news that she is expecting a fourth child.
Husband David, 35, took to Facebook at the weekend to announce the "great news" that the couple are expecting another baby in the summer.
Victoria, 36, has now written on Twitter: "Thank u so much for your kind and beautiful messages!!! we are all so happy and very excited!!!!!!x vb x"
The Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer, who is currenctly in Britain, is known to want a sister for her three boys Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five.
She recently hinted in Vogue magazine about having more children, saying: "Maybe one day another baby but at this stage I think the chances of a girl are quite slim."
The announcement was made after weeks of speculation that the Beckhams, who are based in Los Angeles, may return to Britain. Former Manchester United midfielder David is at Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, where he will train on loan from LA Galaxy until February.
He wrote on Facebook: "I've got some great news to tell you all. Victoria and I are expecting our fourth child this summer. The boys are very excited about the arrival of a new brother or sister."
Messages of congratulations have come from celebrities such as Kylie Minogue, who tweeted: "WOW...Congratulations to Victoria Beckham and David...fourth child on the way!!!"
Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden said: 'Great news that the Beckhams are expecting their 4th child! Hope they get a pink one!'
The Beckhams are expected to stay in the UK for London Fashion Week, which begins on February 18.
