Guns and ammunition allegedly in the possession of a Belfast man were to be used by dissident republicans, a court has heard. Police also claimed Joseph Woods (34) knows where other undiscovered weapons are being held.
Woods is accused of possessing two rifles and assorted ammunition with intent to endanger life or cause serious damage to property. The charge is connected with guns recovered during police searches in north Belfast last Thursday.
Woods, described as having no fixed abode but with an address at Cavendish Street, was remanded in custody after appearing before the city's magistrates' court.
