Woman in knife terror at her home

Thursday, 19 November 2009

A woman was threatened with a knife during an aggravated burglary at her home in Carrickfergus.

The victim, who is in her late 40s, went into a nearby garage at Garron Heights, leaving the back door of her home open.

When the householder came out she was assaulted by an unknown male and dragged inside her home, where two other males were present.

It is understood the intruders were of Middle Eastern origin, police said.

The victim was threatened with a knife and her house was ransacked, however it is not believed that anything was stolen.

The man who assaulted the woman is described as being 5ft 8ins in height, with swarthy skin, dark eyes and dark, wavy hair.

He was wearing black trousers, a dark hooded zip-up top and a white shirt. His face was covered with a red and white coloured scarf.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000.

Gritty, moving and heroic...Billy plays captured life here

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times ... Sunday's 30th anniversary screening of the seminal Too Late to Talk to Billy was riveting viewing. But it wasn't nostalgic viewing.

Scary movie? Their jaws were sore from laughing

Teenage boys love horror films and I have two who are in charge of the remote control in our house, so naturally there’s gore-a-plenty on the box most weekends. However, until recently one film was banned.
