North West 200: Rider dies in SuperTwin race

A young rider has died in the SuperTwin motorbike race at the North West 200.

The remainder of the North West 200 event has been cancelled following the crash.

The accident happened at Dhu Varren in Portrush.

Organisers confirmed that the final two races would not take place following the death of a rider.

A spokesperson for the North West 200 said: "Following an incident on the approach to Black Hill on the third lap of the SuperTwin race at today's Vauxhall International North West 200 a competitor has passed away.

"As a result racing has been brought to an end."
