Newry and Armagh: McNulty swaps the GAA pitch for Assembly halls
All-Ireland winner Justin McNulty will swap the Gaelic football pitches for the halls of Stormont after the SDLP man secured his seat in Newry and Armagh.
He will take over the reins from Dominic Bradley after making it through on the eighth count. The DUP's William Irwin, who topped the poll, said he was delighted with his result.
Sinn Fein's Megan Fearon, who is the party's youngest MLA, Cathal Boylan and Conor Murphy all secured their seats in the Assembly.
The UUP's Danny Kennedy was elected on the seventh count after polling 4,904 votes.
