£30,000 needed for schoolboy ME sufferer
Efforts to raise £30,000 to send an 11-year-old ME sufferer to Hawaii for treatment for his debilitating condition has already put £4,000 into the fund.
Andrew McMurdie will hopefully fly to the US Pacific Island state with his mother Jacqueline for medical aid from world-renowned specialist in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Dr Jamie Deckoff-Jones.
The Little Acorns Fund was launched just two weeks ago and hopes are high the £4000 will be swiftly topped up with the variety of other events planned.
Readers of the Ulster Gazette were moved by its story on the schoolboy, with the headline ‘Help for Andrew’ being adopted by the McMurdie family as the campaign slogan.
