£35k drugs haul: man is charged in south Belfast
A man has been charged with drug dealing after illicit substances with a street value of £35,000 were seized in south Belfast.
They were discovered after police stopped a vehicle on Stockman's Lane shortly before 10pm on Tuesday. The vehicle was searched and class A and class B drugs found.
A 33-year-old man was arrested for obstructing police, suspicion of possession of class A and B controlled drugs, and suspicion of possession of class A and B controlled drugs with intent to supply.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Gillis said: "Police are working with communities to tackle the issue of drug supply and distribution given the harm that such substances can have on both individuals and wider society.
"This seizure is an indication of our commitment to keeping people safe and we would encourage anyone with information on drug dealing to contact police on 101 or anonymously through independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
