40 cigarette factory jobs go to Poland

Forty jobs at a Co Antrim cigarette manufacturer are set to be relocated abroad, an MP has claimed.
North Antrim MP Ian Paisley Jnr said the contract jobs at Japan Tobacco International are to go to Poland. The positions are based at Gallaher's factory in Lisnafillan on the outskirts of Ballymena.
Mr Paisley said: "After discussions with JTI, it is clear that the jobs cannot be retained. This should serve as a warning to those who remain intent on campaigning against this company that provides £60m to the economy."
Mr Paisley said 1,000 jobs were still secure at the site, but claimed "wreckless Government policies such as plain packaging" would not help employment prospects.
No-one from JTI was available for comment.
