Accused in court over tiger kidnap
A 42-year-old man appeared in court yesterday in connection with the tiger kidnapping of a couple.
Barry James Leo Morgan, with an address at Hollybrook Avenue in Newtownabbey, faces two charges of kidnapping as well as conspiracy to commit robbery against the G4S cash delivery firm.
The charges relate to the kidnapping of a couple in Crossgar, Co Down, on Halloween evening in 2011.
Morgan appeared before Newtownards Magistrates' Court yesterday where the case was adjourned.
The court was told six witnesses are currently due to give evidence in the case, three of which will do so from behind a screen to protect their identities.
At the time police said masked men entered a home in Crossgar, County Down.
The couple who live there were held overnight and the man later ordered to go to his workplace, a cash delivery company, and remove cash, police said.
The woman was said to have been kept in a cupboard during the incident.
Morgan denies the charges.
