Alerts cause chaos in Derry and Belfast
Two security alerts in the space of 24 hours in Belfast and Londonderry sparked widespread disruption.
Army Technical Officers attended to a viable device left in Stanfield Place in the Markets area of South Belfast on Thursday night.
PSNI Inspector Ian McCormick said the device was made safe and "taken away for further examination."
A few hours after this incident had been dealt with, ATO were tasked to Derry where a suspicious object discovered on the window sill of a house at Farm Hill in the Foyle Springs area was reported to police.
It was later declared an "elaborate hoax" by the PSNI but not before dozens of families had been evacuated from their homes for several hours.
