Another Newry lotto player joins millionaire club but who is it?
A hunt is underway to find the latest lucky punter of an unclaimed £1m ticket after Newry bagged its second lottery millionaire in as many weeks.
The latest millionaire winner comes after local man Jim McLoughlin snapped up £1m after finding an old ticket for the EuroMillions Mega Friday draw in his coat pocket.
The 68-year-old former plumber's mate said he was "stunned" to find he had won the jackpot.
Now, a EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker winner has a cool £1,000,000 to add to their bank balance - and the ticket was bought in the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area.
The ticket for the special EuroMillions draw was purchased on Tuesday, 13 September.
Every week the Millionaire Maker game guarantees to create two millionaires - one on Tuesday and one on Friday - but with the special EuroMillions draw on this particular Tuesday, five players won a guaranteed £1m. One of the lucky winners from the draw, who bought their ticket in the council area, has still to check their ticket and claim their prize.
The search is now on to find the owner of the winning ticket and players in the area are being urged to check and double-check their unique Millionaire Maker code for the chance to become an instant millionaire.
For every EuroMillions line played, UK players automatically receive a EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker code printed on their ticket.
The winning selection for this prize was RWD 362 818 and the lucky ticket-holder has until 12 March, 2017 to claim their prize.
Patrick Lisoire from The National Lottery said: "We're desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings, this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody's life.
"We're urging everyone who bought a ticket in this area to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding, so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club."
"Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win."
To help jog EuroMillions players' memories about what was happening around the date of the draw in question, the Paralympics (7-18 September) were entering the final week of competition with ParalympicsGB continuing to rack up the medals.
