Antrim girl to sing for Queen
An Antrim girl has been chosen as one of only 40 children from across the UK to sing in a special Diamond choir to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Victoria McClements, from the Dublin Road, will travel to London on Sunday, June 3 to rehearse with the rest of the lucky few chosen to form the choir before the event in St Paul's Cathedral on Tuesday, June 5.
The 11-year-old pupil, a pupil at Antrim Primary School, was called for an audition at St Anne's in Belfast last month after judges were won over by her online application in which she sang Danny Boy and Be Thou My Vision.
Proud mum Audrey told the Antrim Guardian how her daughter reacted to the news: “Victoria almost jumped into my arms as she wasn't expecting such fantastic news. “It was a very special moment for her.”
