Antrim solicitors rake in £1.8m from legal aid
As the identities of Northern Ireland’s top earning solicitors are unveiled, the cost to the public purse has also been highlighted as four solicitors in Co Antrim alone are revealed to have received almost £2m between them in legal aid.
One law firm, Sheridan and Leonard, earned a whopping £980,000 from taking on cases involving clients who were entitled to legal aid between 2010 and 2011, placing it 10th on the list.
Coming in at number 55 was Antrim-based Small and Marken, which received around £340,000 in legal aid.
A further two Co Antrim solicitors earned just over £400,000 between them, also placing them firmly on the list of top earners.
