Police are seeking witnesses after shots were fired at a house and a flat in Lurgan.

Officers were called to the Woodville and Victoria Street areas at 11.15pm on Tuesday night after reports of gunfire. No one was injured in either incident.

DUP MLA Carla Lockhart condemned those responsible and urged the community to work with police to find the culprits.

She said: "The areas in which these shots were fired are built-up. A large number of families live here and this could very well have resulted in loss of life.

"For individuals to open fire on households in this way is utterly wrong. I condemn this unreservedly and call on the PSNI to ensure a speedy proactive investigation.

"I encourage anyone with any information to come forward to the PSNI or anonymously to Crimestoppers and report it."

Anyone with information on the shootings is urged to contact police at Lurgan, quoting reference 1459 04/10/16.
