Appeal to passenger after teen attacked in Carr Road area of Lisburn
A man who may have vital information about a frightening attack on a teenager is being asked to come forward by police.
Detectives investigating an assault in the Carr Road area of Lisburn last week are appealing to a "potentially significant witness" who travelled with the victim prior to the attack to get in touch.
On Tuesday, September 16 at 1.30am a 19-year-old woman got into a taxi at Lower Crescent in south Belfast. She was then taken to Carr Road in Lisburn where she was assaulted.
Police believe that a second passenger, a man, was in the car for a period of time after the taxi left Lower Crescent.
Detective Sergeant Gary Chambers said: "He could help officers determine exactly what happened prior to the attack. The victim was left abandoned in a dark and isolated area very far from where she had asked to be taken at the beginning of the journey.
"This was a very frightening ordeal for her but she managed to get to a house and ask for help around 3.40am."
The man has been urged to call 101 and quote reference 99160914.
