Armed man robs bookmakers in Lisburn

Detectives in Lisburn are hunting for a man who robbed a bookies while armed with a knife and suspected firearm.

The robber entered the business in the Stewartstown Road area of Dunmurry at around 9.15pm on Tuesday and demanded money.

There were two members of staff and several customers in the premises at the time.

The man fled the bookmakers with a sum of money and got into a people carrier-type vehicle which headed in the direction of Lagmore. No one was injured in the incident.

The man is described as being of medium build and approximately 5ft10ins tall.

He was wearing a balaclava and a green top.
