Armed robbers made of with a sum of cash from a fast food outlet in Larne in the early hours of Sunday.

Shortly after 1am a man carrying a suspected firearm and another armed with a hammer entered through the rear door of the business on Doric Way.

They threatened staff before making off with a sum of cash.

A 33-year-old man was arrested a short time later and following interview was released police bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Kerry Brennan is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information about this incident to contact Detectives at Ballymena police station on the non-emergency number 101.
