Armed robbery in east Belfast

Masked men brandishing a suspected firearm stole cash and cigarettes in an armed robbery in east Belfast on Monday night.

The men entered the shop on the Albertbridge Road at about 10pm.

A police spokesman said: "One of the men is believed to have been armed with a suspected firearm.

"They made off with a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes and headed in the direction of Glenallen Street."

One of the men is described as being about 6ft tall, of medium build and was wearing a dark coloured fleece, white tracksuit bottoms, gloves and a baseball cap.

The other is described as being about 6ft and of medium build and was wearing a dark hooded jacket, dark bottoms and dark trainers.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non emergency number, 101.
