Army finds viable device during Ardoyne security alert
A viable device has been recovered and removed for forensic examination during a security alert in the Ardoyne area of Belfast.
The alert, which led to homes being evacuated in the early hours of Sunday morning, has now ended.
The bomb squad was at the scene of the alert in the vicinity of Herbert Street.
Condemning those behind the alert, Sinn Fein councillor JJ Magee said: "A number of residents had to leave their homes as a result of this alert. This is the last thing people need.
"The local community wants to be able to go about their business in peace without these type of incidents that serve no purpose
