Arrest after man dies in east Belfast alleyway attack

A 33-year-old man has been arrested over the murder of a man in east Belfast in the early hours of Sunday.
Detectives from the PSNI Serious Crime Branch launched a murder investigation following the death of the 41-year-old man in the Chamberlain Street area of the city shortly after 1am.
The man was found unconscious in the alleyway and taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
Detectives want anyone who was in the Newtownards Road/Chamberlain Street area between 1am and 1:30am and who may have noticed any suspicious activity to contact on 0845 600 8000 or on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
