Arrest in England after cannabis found in lorry in Ballymena
A man has been arrested in England by detectives investigating the seizure of cannabis following the search of a lorry in Ballymena. Co Antrim.
The 25-year-old was arrested in Manchester on Friday morning and has been brought back to Northern Ireland for questioning.
The lorry was stopped in Ballymena on Saturday May 7.
Detective Inspector Keith Gawley said: “Police stopped a lorry on the Moorfields Road in Ballymena shortly after 7am on the morning of Saturday 07 May.
"Cannabis with an estimated street value of £300k was recovered from the vehicle. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of supplying and being concerned in the supply of class B controlled drugs. He remains in custody at this time.”
