A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being found unconscious in a house on a Ballymena estate.

The man, who is understood to be Polish, was discovered in a property at Dunclug Gardens in the early hours of Tuesday morning, after which he was taken to Antrim Area Hospital by the emergency services.

It is believed that he may have been assaulted in his home.

Appealing for information, Detective Sergeant Crothers of the PSNI added: "The man is in a serious condition in hospital."

An Ambulance Service spokesman said a man was taken to Antrim Area Hospital around 11.15am on Tuesday.
