A Judge yesterday allowed a local man to attend his child's christening, provided the christening does not take place in a church in the Galliagh area of Derry.
Emmet Ebbs (19), from Altcar Park, Galliagh, appeared before Judge Corinne Philpott Q.C. charged with unlawfully wounding and assaulting a man, making threats against two women and causing criminal damage to a fence and a car.
All the offences are alleged to have taken place in Galliagh on September 2 of last year. He's further charged with breaking a window at Altnagelvin Area Hospital on the same date.
The defendant, who denies all the charges, had earlier been released on conditional bail. One of the conditions was that he should stay out of the city side of Derry.
However, Judge Philpott was told that the defendant had hoped to attend his child's christening in a church on Derry's city side. The judge said the defendant could attend provided it took place outside of Galliagh.
The case was adjourned until September 17 pending receipt of a medical report about the defendant from Gransha Hospital.
