Detectives are investigating a shooting incident at a house in Craigavon.

A shot was fired through the kitchen window of the property in the Drumgor area at around 10.10pm on Wednesday night. No-one was injured.

Assembly member Doug Beattie said children were sleeping upstairs at the time of the attack.

"A family home, with children upstairs in bed, was attacked in the hours of darkness," said the Ulster Unionist.

"We again are seeing the use of firearms on the streets of Craigavon, and we could well have been facing a fatality here this morning.

"I would encourage anyone with any information to contact the PSNI by phoning 101.

"We cannot allow this behaviour to prevail in our society, in Craigavon or indeed anywhere else."
