A teenager has been released on police bail by detectives investigating an attack in north Belfast that has left a man fighting for his life.

The 17-year-old boy was released from custody yesterday. He was being questioned by detectives investigating how a 24-year-old man sustained head injuries at a flat in Ross House in the Mount Vernon area at around 11am on Monday.

A 41-year-old woman who was also arrested on Tuesday remains in police custody assisting with inquiries.

A senior PSNI officer said a definite line of inquiry was being followed and more arrests were expected.
