Ballycastle: Elderly woman dies after being hit by car

An elderly woman has died after she was hit by a car in Ballycastle, Co Antrim on Sunday.

The woman was walking in the Diamond area of the town when she was struck by a green Vauxhall Corsa at around 1.45pm.

She subsequently died from her unjuries.

An 18-year-old woman has been arrested  by police investigating the incident.

Inspector David Burns asked anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact police at the Collision Investigation Unit on the non-emergency number 101.
