Ballynafeigh Orange Hall was chosen to host members from all sections of the community as part of the Housing Executive’s Shared Neighbourhood Programme recently.

The event focused on the cross-community partnerships presently working in Ballynafeigh, between Ballynafeigh Community Development Association (BCDA), the Housing Executive, Annadale and Haywood Residents’ Association and Ballynafeigh Orange Order.

It also presented a platform for community workers from Lissize Estate in Rathfriland, Springfarm in Antrim, Knockmore/Tonagh in Lisburn and Forthspring in Belfast to network and learn from Ballynafeigh's experiences and successes.

Gerry Tubritt from the BCDA said: “This conference offers an opportunity to grassroots workers from shared neighbourhoods to exchange ideas and explore the issues that are affecting these unique districts in Northern Ireland.

“It is a chance to share our experiences of delivering community development themed work, with community relations at the core, to individuals, groups and residents in these areas.”Some of the group who took part in the programme at Ballynafeigh Orange Hall
