Barber offering free cuts to homeless on Christmas Day
A Belfast barber is bringing festive cheer to the homeless by offering free food and haircuts on Christmas Day.
Jack Shewihi (34), who is originally from Egypt, where his wife and son still live, has decided to spend Christmas Day with those less fortunate by opening his premises, Jack's Barbers, on Church Lane, from 1pm to 6pm.
Homeless people are invited to drop in for a short back and sides or a hair makeover, coupled with good company, mince pies and other festive delights.
Kind-hearted Jack said the gesture would "give something back" and added that he hoped the move would go some way to showing Muslim people in a more positive light as a valuable part of the community in Belfast.
