Bargain hunters to bag house for as little as £5,000

A country pile in Co Tyrone with six bedrooms, including four en suite, could be yours for a knock-down five-figure price.

Or what about a three-bedroom house in Craigavon, on sale at a guide price of £50,000?

There is also a three-bedroom house in Antrim for a tenth of that – a mere £5,000.

These are just some of the bargains going under the hammer at the Allsop property auction in London next month.

The auction house is publicising 15 repossessed houses in Antrim, Armagh and Tyrone for its next sale event.

It's understood that the sellers of the homes are low-profile lenders eager to clear their books of houses which have failed to sell through normal channels over the past few years.

The biggest property in Northern Ireland is the six-bedroom pad on Loughmallon Road in Pomeroy.

Six-bedroom properties in the Tyrone area are on sale with price tags of up to £300,000.

Allsop chartered surveyor Richard Watson said there was no guide price given for the dwelling, but added: "It is in poor internal condition and requires money spent on it because of what's not been done or what's been done badly."
