Belfast artist Oliver Jeffers illustrates human rights book

By Amanda Ferguson

Celebrated north Belfast artist Oliver Jeffers has illustrated the cover of a new book introducing children to human rights themes.

The New York-based author and illustrator behind The Incredible Book Eating Boy and Once Upon An Alphabet, among other titles, worked on Dreams of Freedom, as part of a project by Amnesty International.

Aimed at children aged six and over, Dreams of Freedom introduces youngsters to some of the world's bravest human rights champions, encouraging them to explore hard-won liberties and understand how precious they are.

It is the follow-up to Amnesty's award-winning bestseller We Are All Born Free and is published on March 5 by Frances Lincoln Children's Books.
