Belfast has more wasters than any other UK city
According to a survey by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Belfast has the highest emissions per capita than any of the UK's 20 cities, even before London.
While other cities dropped their energy emissions by an average of 12% over the past year, Belfast only managed to reduce its waste by a measly 4% and in some instances it even increased its emissions.
The vast majority of energy waste here comes from the domestic sector stated the report, with Belfast homes contributing heavily to wastage.
So what’s the solution? Double glazed window installation, insulation and wiser use of energy emitting appliances and heating solutions advises the RICS.
