Belfast man (30) attacked and shot in both legs
Belfast police are hunting two men who carried out a paramilitary style shooting in the Henry Place area of city.
A 30-year-old man was shot in both legs during the attack, which happened at approximately 1.30am on Saturday, July 22.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
Condemning the attack, Sinn Féin councillor JJ Magee said: “Those behind this shooting want to drag us back to the past. It will not happen.
”I call on anyone with information about this incident to bring it forward to the police.”
A PSNI spokesman described the attack as "brutal and horrific".
"It is yet another example of how criminal groups seek to control communities through fear and violence," he said.
Anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area of Henry Place has been asked to contact detectives at Musgrave Criminal Investigation Branch on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 110 22/07/17.
