Belfast man held over Palace Barracks Holywood explosion

Police have arrested a man in connection with an explosion at the Army's Palace Barracks in Holywood last August.

The 60-year-old was arrested in Belfast on Wednesday morning following the search of a property.

Detective Inspector Stuart Griffin, from Serious Crime Branch, said: “The explosion took place in a postal vehicle inside the military complex on 14 August 2015.

"Thankfully, no one was injured but a number of vehicles were damaged.

"Police enquiries are continuing and I would appeal to anyone with information about the incident to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101.”
